Editorial Policy

Our Editorial Mission
InsightPilot publishes content that helps readers make better decisions about money, work, technology, and their daily lives. Our editorial standard is simple: every article must be accurate, specific, and genuinely useful. We do not publish content that exists only to rank for a search term or fill space. If we can't add something real to a conversation, we don't enter it.
Editorial Independence
InsightPilot maintains complete editorial independence from its advertisers and commercial partners. The companies, products, and services we evaluate or recommend are selected based on merit and relevance to readers — not on commercial relationships or advertising revenue. Advertisers have no influence over:
- Which topics we choose to cover
- How we evaluate or compare financial products
- The conclusions we reach in our analysis
- Whether a product or company is mentioned favorably or critically
If we have a financial relationship with a company we mention (such as an affiliate agreement), this is disclosed in the article or in our Disclaimer.
Research Standards
Every article published on InsightPilot is researched using credible, authoritative sources. Our primary source hierarchy, in order of preference, is:
- Government and regulatory bodies — Federal Reserve, SEC, IRS, CFPB, FDA, CDC, and equivalent agencies
- Peer-reviewed academic research — published in reputable journals with clear methodology
- Primary company disclosures — annual reports, official press releases, SEC filings
- Established industry publications — recognized outlets with editorial standards of their own
- Expert interviews and on-the-record statements — from qualified professionals in the relevant field
We do not rely on anonymous sources, social media posts, or unverified secondhand reporting for factual claims.
Fact-Checking Process
Before any article is published, all factual claims go through the following process:
- Each specific statistic, date, name, and figure is verified against at least one primary or authoritative source
- Data points include the date of the underlying source, so readers can assess currency
- Articles with financial data are reviewed to confirm figures are recent and not superseded by newer releases
- Health and medical claims are cross-referenced with published research and noted as preliminary or consensus-level as appropriate
Use of AI in Content Production
InsightPilot may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with research, drafting, and editing. However, all published content is reviewed, verified, and approved by a human editor before publication. AI-generated text is treated as a draft starting point — not a final product. We are responsible for the accuracy and quality of everything published on this site, regardless of the tools used in its creation.
Updates and Corrections Policy
The world changes rapidly, and so does accurate information. We update articles when:
- Underlying data (interest rates, statistics, laws, prices) materially changes
- A reader or third party identifies a factual error
- Our own review identifies outdated information
When a correction is made to an article:
- Minor corrections (spelling, formatting, broken links) are made silently
- Factual corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with a brief explanation of what changed and when
To report an error, visit our contact page and include the article URL and the specific claim that needs updating. We take corrections seriously and prioritize responding to substantive factual concerns.
